Sports clubs, coaches and volunteers are being given the chance to network, attend accredited training courses as well as access free support and advice.
The East Cambridgeshire Sport Club and Coach Conference 2013 is meeting on Wednesday 20 March at Witchford Village College, where there will be the chance to attend one of three accredited courses between: Safeguarding and Child Protection (UKCC), Equity in Your Coaching (UKCC) and Emergency First Aid (HSE).
The costs of the courses have been subsidised by East Cambridgeshire District Council as part of the authority’s commitment to support grassroots sport.
The pre bookable evening starts at 5.30pm with the chance to network with sporting peers and seek advice from a number of information stalls with the courses beginning at 6.30pm until 9.30pm.
Councillor Richard Hobbs, Chairman of the Community and Environment Committee at East Cambridgeshire District Council, said: "Sport is very important to improving the health of the residents which is why we want to help sport clubs and coaches in our district. We have brought together a range of experts to provide accredited subsidised training, advice and practical support. We think this can make a real difference to help grassroots sports thrive and consequently help keep us all active and healthy."
