Councillors and officers from East Cambridgeshire District Council (ECDC) visited fresh salad and vegetable provider, G’s UK headquarters in Barway on Friday 27th April to understand more about the business and see their facilities first-hand. Friday’s tour forms part of a wider effort from the council to visit and speak with a range of businesses from across the district.

Councillor Steve Cheetham, Service Delivery Champion f or Economic Development at East Cambridgeshire District Council, said: “Businesses like G’s prove that East Cambridgeshire is a perfect place for companies to flourish. They also have a proven track record of investing in apprenticeships for young people, which is a vision shared by the council. I am proud that the district has industry leaders like G’s flying the flag for commerce in East Cambs.”

Beverly Dixon G’s Group HR Director, said: “It has been a pleasure to have councillors and officers from East Cambridgeshire District Council visit our UK headquarters and have the opportunity to talk about our business. We pride ourselves on being growers of the finest quality salads and vegetables, this has come from continuing to invest in our infrastructure at our head office, as well as our employees. We hope that our visitors found this experience valuable and we look forward to working with them in the future.”

Products from G’s are stocked in several of the UK’s well-known supermarkets including Tesco, Marks and Spencer, Asda, Sainsbury’s, Morrison’s and Waitrose.
