East Cambridgeshire District Council is urging businesses to check their eligibility and apply for the Local Restrictions Support Grant (LRSG) ahead of the deadline on 31st May.
The LRSG is available for businesses that have a rateable value and were legally required to close between 16th February to 31st March due to lockdown restrictions.
The funding is not available to businesses who elected to close for other reasons.
Businesses that have already received previous LRSG grants will need to apply to confirm their eligibility with the Council.
Councillor David Brown, Chairman of the Finance and Assets Committee, said: “The COVID-19 pandemic has been incredibly difficult for businesses, and funding schemes such as the LRSG can provide a lifeline for those who are struggling.
“The Council is extremely proud of the support we have been able to provide to businesses and we will continue to do what we can to help them.
“We would urge all businesses to visit the Council’s website to check their eligibility and apply for the LRSG if they can.”
Businesses that have a property with a rateable value of £15,000 or less, may be eligible for a cash grant of £2,096 for the 44-day qualifying restrictions period.
Businesses that have a property with a rateable value over £15,000 and less than £51,000, may be eligible for a cash grant of £3,143 for the 44-day qualifying restrictions period.
Business with a property with a rateable value of £51,000 or above, may be eligible for a cash grant of £4,714 for the 44-day qualifying restrictions period.
To be eligible for this funding, a business must be in East Cambridgeshire and have been legally required to close between 16th February to 31st March 2021.
